Our City branch covers the 25 wards of the City of London Corporation - aka 'the Square Mile'. It borders the City of Westminster to the west, the boroughs of Camden, Islington and Hackney to the north, Tower Hamlets to the east and the river to the south.
We have local government elections every four years and as of March 2017, we hold five seats on the Common Council - the City of London's primary decision-making body - in the wards of Portsoken, Cripplegate and Aldersgate.
We campaign around local, national and international issues arising from the City’s role as lobbyist for the financial services sector nationally.
Our monthly branch meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month (except August).
Our Committee are: Paul O'Brien (Chair), Susanne Levin (Secretary), Fred Rogers (Treasurer), Christine Clifford (Vice Chair: Membership), Will Pimlott (Vice Chair: Campaigns), Natasha Lloyd-Owen (Women's Officer), Steve Goodman (Communications: Production and distribution) and Humfrey Brandes (Newsletter editor).
Check out the Events page for details of all our upcoming meetings and events. We look forward to welcoming you at one soon!
If you can donate money rather than time...
Donations from supporters are vital to our local Labour Party and its branches. Without them, it's harder to run effective campaigns - and with City and Westminster council elections coming up in 2017 and 2018, every penny will help us to win seats in target areas: going towards the production of leaflets, newsletters and other literature. Any donation is appreciated, however large or small, whether it's a few pounds from your own pocket or a donation from your local business. Thank you!
If you would like to donate money to the City branch to help fund our local campaigns, you can do so by BACS: Account Name: City of London Labour Party; Account Number: 50524471; Sort Code: 08-02-28.
Please note: Donations to a political party are regulated by the Political Parties Elections and Referendums Act 2000.
