The Picturehouse workers’ campaign for the Living Wage and union rights will be heating up in October with the London Film Festival: the campaign will be using the festival as a way of putting pressure on the company, and they need your help!
Here is a message from the Picturehouse Strikers:
"We will be organising a protest every night during the forthcoming London Film Festival from Thursday 5th October to Sunday 15th October at BOTH Hackney Picturehouse on Mare Street and at Picturehouse Central on Shaftesbury Avenue, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
Are you able commit to coming to any of these dates? It would be a really big help to the campaign if you could pick a date and reply to firstname.lastname@example.org to confirm which day(s) you can come along and to which picket(s).
Remember we’ll be kicking off London Film Festival with a demo on Wednesday 4th October from 5:30pm in Leicester Square – please come down after work if you can.
We are also lining up some special guest appearances at the picket lines with performers and MPs so watch this space!"
There will be a Picturehouse Strike solidarity gig on 13th October at Brewer's Bar in Dalston. All the money raised from ticket sales will go to supporting the striking workers at Picturehouses across London and in Brighton.
