Petition to halt Westminster Council’s proposed £750,000 libraries cut

library_protest_sq.pngFollowing the demonstration outside Marylebone Library on 5th November, Councillor Adam Hug has organised another petition calling for a halt to Westminster Council’s proposed £750,000 cut from the libraries budget:

“We the undersigned petition Westminster City Council to halt its planned cut of £750,000 from the library service budget that would see the equivalent of 17 ½ full-time members of staff, mostly librarians, lose their jobs. The council should open a full public consultation and find alternative methods for raising the funding required in order to protect Westminster’s vital library service.”
